FAQ

Common questions

Most customers have questions before they commit. Here is what we want you to know before you call, text, or drive in from out of town.

Do you only sell beds
you already have?

No. If we know what you need, we may be able to locate a rust-free OEM / used factory original bed or find a repairable factory bed and paint it to match.

Can you repair
my existing bed?

Yes. We handle truck bed repair, paint, and related collision work through our Dallas repair facility, including insurance repair work when applicable.

Do you install the bed?

Yes. Scheduled bed installations are usually completed the same day once the bed is repaired, painted, bedlined, and ready, but timing depends on the truck and job details.

Do you have rust-free
OEM truck beds?

Yes. Rust-free, rust free OEM, used factory, and used factory original truck beds are a major focus for us, especially for customers coming from northern states where clean beds are harder to find.

Do you work with
insurance?

Yes. We work with insurance companies for truck bed and body repairs when the damage is covered. Ask us about insurance repair options before paying fully out of pocket.

Are these factory
original beds?

We focus on OEM, factory original, and used factory truck beds rather than flimsy aftermarket beds. If a used factory original truck bed needs repair, paint, or installation, we can often handle that too.

How much does a replacement truck bed cost?

Pricing depends on your truck year, make, model, bed length, bed condition, paint work, installation, and whether insurance is involved. Text truck details and photos for the fastest accurate quote.

What affects the price?

The bed itself, repair work, paint color, bedliner, installation, parts, and timing can all affect price. Clean beds and high-demand beds can sell quickly.

Is paint or installation included?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Some customers buy a bed only, some need paint, and some want a same-day install. We’ll quote the option that matches what you need.

How long does installation take?

Scheduled bed installs are usually completed the same day. Many customers wait while the installation is done, but timing depends on the truck and job details.

Can I reserve a bed before driving to Dallas?

Yes, once the bed, price, timing, and paint plan are agreed on, we typically collect a $500 deposit and your paint code to reserve the bed and start the process.

Do you help out-of-state customers?

Yes. Many customers contact us from states where road salt makes clean beds hard to find. Contact us before traveling so we can review fitment, availability, paint, bedliner, timing, and installation.

How much is a complete out-of-state bed job?

Most complete replacement bed jobs are around $3,000 including a rust-free or clean southern bed, needed repairs, paint to your paint code, spray-in bedliner, and installation here in Dallas. Final price depends on the truck and bed.

Do you install beds out of state?

No. We do not do out-of-state installs. The normal path is to come to Better Beds in Dallas for scheduled installation, then head home with the truck bed replacement handled.

Do you ship beds?

Customer-arranged freight may be possible, and we can help load the carrier, but shipping adds cost. Most out-of-state customers come to Dallas for scheduled installation.

Will the paint match exactly?

We work to match your factory color as closely as possible. Age, sun fade, pearl colors, previous paint work, and truck condition can affect how exact the match looks.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments help us plan installs, inspections, paint work, and customer travel. Text or call before driving in so we can confirm what we have and what needs to happen next.

How-To Guide

How to measure
your truck bed.

Measure the inside box length from the inside edge of the box to the inside edge of the tailgate. This helps us identify whether you need a short bed, standard bed, or long bed replacement.
